Position Summary: Seeking a lover of agriculture, stranger to no one, technology savvy go-getter to serve as the public’s first line of contact with the FiberMax Center for Discovery. Help us put our best face forward as you showcase our facility to potential renters and guests, help craft our presence on social media, and guide the work of our intern staff. Be an Ag-Vocate for the FiberMax Center as you interact with a variety of audiences on our behalf.
1. Manages and schedules event rentals, including meeting with perspective renters, contracts and invoicing, planning room set-ups, working with caterers, ordering linens, and booking staff and security.
2. Works with Executive Director to execute marketing campaigns and is responsible for managing social media accounts. This includes designing and scheduling posts, responding to messages in a timely manner, and making sure content aligns with brand guidelines and culture.
3. Creates content and collaborates with team to produce a magazine three times annually. This includes interviewing, photographing, writing, and editing articles.
4. Helps create in-house marketing materials including brochures, flyers, event signage, and social media videos.
5. Works with part-time staff to promote annual membership through one-on-one solicitation, renewal mail campaigns, and phone calls.
6. Manages Grace's General Store and e-commerce website, which includes reconciling sales, tracking inventory, arranging merchandise, and promoting through social media. Coordinates with ED to place orders and restock inventory.
7. Working with the ED and Board Executive Committee, plans and attends board meetings, drafts and distributes agendas, prepares board meeting minutes, and related activities. Provides general support to Board and Committee members.
8. Coordinates tours for non-school groups and schedules volunteers.
9. Based at the front desk, this position helps greet visitors, answers phones, and responds to general inquiries.
10. Responsible for opening and closing the facility and assisting the ED in training volunteers and board members on center operations.
11. Works with ED to assign work and manage intern staff.
12. Provides clerical support and other duties as assigned.
Skill Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and/or knowledge of agriculture is a plus
A college degree in agriculture communications, marketing, or related field required
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite required
2-4 years of experience in a professional setting preferred
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Organized with attention to detail
Willingness to contribute in all areas of the center’s operations as part of a small nonprofit team
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Photography and video experience preferred, but not required
