About NACD
NACD is a nonprofit organization that represents America’s 3,000 conservation districts and the 17,000 individuals who serve on their governing boards. Conservation districts are local units of government established under state law. They work with millions of cooperating landowners and operators to help them manage and protect land and water resources on private and public lands in the United States.
NACD advocates and maintains relationships with organizations and government agencies; publishes information about districts; works with leaders in agriculture, conservation, environment, education, industry and other fields; and provides services to conservation districts.
As the national voice for all conservation districts, NACD supports voluntary, locally led, incentive-driven natural resource conservation programs that benefit all lands and people.
