Department overview: Winning the hearts and minds of higher education audiences is more competitive than ever before. From prospective and current students, their parents, and alumni, to donors, faculty and staff, our target audiences require consistent messages that are both strategic and multifaceted.
Bringing together an integrated, multidisciplinary team of marketing and communications specialists, Brand Management allows OSU to take its immense brand equity to the next level. Our top priority is telling great OSU stories in whatever shape they need to take — from branding, advertising, social posts or a blog to an in-depth magazine article, video or media placement.
In partnership with communication teams from across campuses, our focus is on strategically aligning our collective brand messages and resources.
Roles and responsibilities: The communications intern position plays an integral role in the operation of the Brand Management editorial team, and students will gain valuable hands-on experience while taking an active role in the day-to-day operations of an award winning university communications team.

The communications intern position will be primarily involved in producing written stories for the university’s all-encompassing news site — news.okstate.edu, university magazines (i.e. STATE) and internal communications outlets (i.e. weekly Student Bulletin and Headlines emails). Student interns will have the opportunity to develop and refine skills with a highly skilled and experienced team of communication professionals.
Additional opportunities may include curating content, uploading news stories to the web and updating web pages.
