Description of duties:
This part-time position is designed to provide the Communications Intern(s) with hands-on experience in The Innovation Foundation at OSU. The Innovation Foundation’s mission is to maximize the impact of OSU’s excellence in aerospace and advanced mobility, energy, agriculture, and One Health by translating innovative applied research into products and services, facilitating strong partnerships with aligned industry and regional partners, and investing in the development of emerging companies — all for the benefit of society. This position will provide interns with the ability to establish brand awareness, create content, digital media, and develop social media for The Innovation Foundation and its institutes.
Work closely with the Associate Director of Communications, The Innovation Foundation team, and other external partners.
Contribute marketing and communication ideas, write copy for materials, including print and digital media.
Monitor, create and publish social media.
Create print materials for programs and events, resources and other activities.
Photograph events and activities.
Create and edit promotional videos.
Perform other administrative duties pertaining to marketing and communications.
Employment location:
The Innovation Foundation, Mike Morgan Building, 1201 Innovation Way, Stillwater, OK 74074; but some remote work is possible.
Required qualifications:
Writing skills and the ability to craft a personable, professional tone for all public-facing communications.
Knowledge of Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office products.
Familiarity and comfort with professional use of Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and other webbased media.
Education:
Taken at least 24 hours in a marketing or communication-related major and currently enrolled at Oklahoma State University.
Major or focus on Marketing, Journalism, Strategic Communications, or Agricultural Communications.
Compensation and benefits:
Interactions with marketing professionals in OSU Brand Management and other external public relations firms.
Requested Work Samples: Marketing work (flyers, webpage, publications, etc.)
