Main job responsibilities

  • Communications

    • Website maintenance

    • Social media

    • Newsletter

    • Media Relations

    • Advertising for events and member services

    • Marketing for the Association

    • Contributions to partner publications

    • Ohio Woodland Journal

  • Membership Services

    • Manage the Paul Bunyan ShowSM, including show exhibitors, vendors, advertising, show layout and logistics, and volunteers

    • Membership administration

    • Manage OFA Events

  • OFA Foundation

    • Manage Camp Canopy contract

    • E.B. Miller Scholarship advertising

    • Conservation Education Grants advertising

    • Manage Ohio Tree Farm Committee contract

  • Other duties assigned


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism, media or related field


Licenses and Certifications: Valid Ohio Driver's License


Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in communications role including portfolio of completed work

  • 5+ years of experience managing events or trade shows

  • Experience in membership management databases preferred


Skills:

  • Well-developed writing/ journalistic and project management skills

  • Strong background in creating and implementing high level communications plans.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible

  • Self-sufficiency in ownership of work and tasks

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of colleagues and partners

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends


Work Environment

Hybrid: weekly time in office and working from home with periodic travel around the state. Frequently sedentary work with use of a computer screen. Requires ability to lift normal objects.

Salary: $60,000
