Job Description and Responsibilities

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing and implementing marketing plans, strategies and tactics for all Morris Equine Group media brands to include Western Horseman, Barrel Horse News, Quarter Horse News, EquiStat and Stallion Register


These marketing deliverables include brand adherence and audience development and growth in print, online and at Western industry events. The Marketing Coordinator also will assist in the creation of assets for sales, video, social media, along with the creation of promotional materials, press releases and comprehensive media campaign plans and execution. This position will also act as an ambassador for all Morris Equine brands when needed.


Essential Function, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Director of Marketing to plan, develop and implement multimedia campaigns with a focus on audience development, brand loyalty and subscription growth across multiple equine brands

  • Supporting the Director of Marketing in establishing and evaluating a marketing strategy and plan by analyzing and assembling forecasts, updating calendars and organizing and planning promotional presentations

  • Communicating campaign deliverables, objectives, design requests and timelines to the team while providing instructions for promotion or use

  • Curate, coordinate and facilitate deliverables for all trade/media partnerships including but not limited to event activation, print, email, website and social promotion

  • Direct involvement in tradeshow event marketing including the planning, ordering, setup and management of booths at key Western industry events working directly with the merchandise coordinator and brand director to ensure quality and consistency

  • Orchestrate and develop key event activation opportunities outside of the traditional format

  • Generate social media, website and video content while attending Western industry events in concert with the digital team

  • Create and manage key partnerships with outside industry professionals, events and associations

  • Represent the Morris Media Equine Group at all times with high professional standards and attention to detail


General Duties:

  • Prepares marketing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing KPIs from events, partnerships and in-house campaign initiatives

  • Manage trade show booths for all Morris Equine Group, includes design, set up, staffing and working booths at major industry events

  • Manage existing sponsorship deliverables and develop new sponsorship opportunities

  • Write and distribute press releases to promote programs, products and initiatives

  • Assist with the development and creation of marketing materials

  • Maintain an inventory and directory of sales support materials making sure all resources are accurate and current while coordinating new material creation as needed

  • Assist managers with marketing-related special events and special projects

  • Develop Marketing and sales collateral materials for equine brands


Qualifications?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or other Communications or business-related field

  • 3-5 years of experience implementing multi-media campaigns for national brands, media or agency experience preferred

  • Proven professional experience in print and digital marketing

  • Strong passion and connection to the Western industry

  • Required travel to four or more domestic industry events per year; additional travel within ~50 miles of the DFW metroplex may be required


Required Skills:

  • Superior organization skills

  • Project management experience and time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously. Being familiar with project management software is also an asset.

  • Critical thinker with a keen ability to plan, strategize and problem-solve

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to do all tasks as assigned

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision yet able to be a productive member of a team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate clearly with various departments including graphic design, editorial, digital and advertising, as well as vendors, contractors and partners.


Preferred Skills:

Ability to create aesthetically pleasing presentations and promotional material in Keynote, PowerPoint or other presentation software


Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Acrobat)
