The American Angus Association is seeking candidates for an experienced Marketing Specialist. The position of Marketing Specialist is responsible for marketing various programs within the Association but particularly focusing on the commercial cattle industry. The Marketing Specialist is a part of the Association communications team but works closely with our Commercial Programs department.
Position Responsibilities:
Promote Angus programs with the commercial cattlemen audience through a variety of platforms – digital, print and in-person
Create and support a marketing communications plan for commercial cattlemen, particularly focused on Association
commercial programs.
Connect with cattlemen at industry events, video sales and on ranch visits.
Create engaging content and promotional materials for social, digital and media.
Manage projects for the Association’s commercial programs.
Analyze markets, campaigns and customer data.
Help create news releases, announcements, and other promotional materials on behalf of the American Angus Association.
Pursue ways to overlap content across paid, owned and earned multimedia channels.
Requirements:
Excellent communication skills, including storytelling, public speaking and interpersonal skills.
Excellent social media and writing skills. Design, photography and videography skills are a plus.
Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
Must be comfortable with applicable computer software and other technology.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Must be reliable, dependable and a self-starter.
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn is a must.
Willingness to take initiative and ownership in projects is essential.
Must be available to travel up to 25-30% of the time.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, animal science or agricultural communications other applicable fields, or equivalent work
experience.
Must have a minimum of three years of practical experience in a marketing environment through education, internships, or
employment. If interested in remote work, must have a proven record of remote work success or be willing to work in-office
for a period of time.
Must have a beef cattle background or experience.
