Job Summary:
The social media communications coordinator in the Office of Communications and Marketing for OSU Agriculture is a professional who is skilled at developing strategies, generating dynamic content, coordinating social media initiatives across multiple platforms and setting expectations and tone for flagship social media channels. They work closely with other staff in the office to promote and highlight the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources within the OSU community, state, region and country.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements, tracks and optimizes social and digital marketing content and strategies across platforms to enhance brand awareness and engagement among multiple audiences for OSU Agriculture’s flagship channels.
Manages relationships within the department, as well as other university communications and marketing partners.
Supports teams such as web developers and programmers, videographers, photographers, graphic designers and content writers to launch timely campaigns and initiatives.
Collaborates with team leads and focus areas within the Office of Communications and Marketing to set expectations, norms and a consistent tone with social media content.
Provides leadership and expertise for social media campaigns and initiatives across OSU Agriculture.
Maintains a social media calendar that includes content for flagship channels.
Educates those within OSU Agriculture who create social media content on best practices, including accessibility.
Monitors social media channels during the evenings and weekends.
Supports the digital manager and senior director with issues and crisis communications.
Aids in the supervision of digital media interns.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, strategic communications, mass communication, marketing, graphic design, agricultural communications or related field.
Two years of experience in social media marketing.
Oklahoma driver’s license or ability to obtain an Oklahoma driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Reimbursement for official travel.
Duty reporting is in-person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Proven experience coordinating social/digital media
Experience creating content for social media platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn
Results-oriented strategic thinker
Excellent self-direction and creativity in managing a digital presence
Excellent communications skills
Strong understanding of digital media
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
Proofreading to ensure accurate and high-quality work
Solid understanding of Associated Press style
Experience in photography and photo editing skills
Experience in video creation for social media
Ability to work under deadline, both within a strategic communications team, as well as independently
Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure a wide variety of projects are delivered on schedule
Strong creativity, communication, innovation and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a wide range of people and programs
